WebDec 8, 2015 · This depends on how the windshield is damaged. Aircraft windscreens are often multi-layer and can withstand cracks in the outermost layer. If this is the only damage then the flight can operate as normal and write up the airplane so that maintenance looks at it before returning the airplane to service.
