There was limited wi-fi and no cell service, so we all put our phones down for an entire week and re-connected. We spent the days riding, fishing, hiking, shooting and just enjoying the views. WebSpring Bear Hunts. We have the American black bear and on occasion, the grizzly. The grizzly is protected in the state of Idaho, but the black bear can be hunted. Dogs and bait are used for hunting bear outside of the deer and elk season. For the last several years we have had an outstanding kill ratio on trophy black bear.

Our family stayed in a 2-bedroom cabin near the river. While it was a bit of a walk to the amenities, we'd wake up to horses grazing right outside our windows and we'd fall asleep to the sound of the river. The staff at Diamond D was amazing.
